Chao Song’s Google Scholar profile has passed 1,000 citations. Google Scholar marked the milestone in an English-language notification on 4 October 2026. A check on 6 October 2026 showed 1,003 citations, an h-index of 15 and an i10-index of 23.

The milestone brings together collaborative work across spatial statistics, health geography and environmental risk modelling. Selected frequently cited papers illustrate the breadth of this research:

158 citations | Geomorphology, 2019. “New method for landslide susceptibility mapping supported by spatial logistic regression and GeoDetector: A case study of Duwen Highway Basin, Sichuan Province, China.” Yang, Song and colleagues combined factor selection with spatial logistic regression to incorporate both environmental attributes and spatial structure in landslide susceptibility mapping.

141 citations | BMC Public Health, 2014. “Using an autologistic regression model to identify spatial risk factors and spatial risk patterns of hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) in Mainland China.” Bo, Song, Wang and Li examined climatic and socioeconomic associations while accounting for spatial dependence.

79 citations | Landslides, 2019. “Local-scale landslide susceptibility mapping using the B-GeoSVC model.” Yang and colleagues, including Song, integrated regional trends and locally varying relationships within a hierarchical Bayesian framework.

60 citations | Science of the Total Environment, 2019. “Exploring spatiotemporal nonstationary effects of climate factors on hand, foot, and mouth disease using Bayesian Spatiotemporally Varying Coefficients (STVC) model in Sichuan, China.” Song and colleagues introduced a Bayesian STVC approach to examine how disease–climate associations vary across places and over time.

These publications reflect the contributions of co-authors and research collaborators. Together, they trace a continuing focus on understanding geographical differences and developing methods for spatial and spatiotemporal analysis.

All citation counts are from Google Scholar, checked 6 October 2026, and may change. “Frequently cited” describes profile counts; it is not a formal Highly Cited Paper designation.
